Get above 1000 on the SAT, keep an unimpressive GPA, and you're in. UH will take pretty much anybody. If you are a good student, smart, or looking to be academically challenged, try the Honors College or go to Rice or UT Austin.

Any idiot can get into this university, it's a tier 2 university that doesn't discriminate unless your gpa is below 1.0...they're "trying" to become a tier 1 school, but good luck...best advice for those thinking of UH, aim higher and do 2 things:

1. Go to Community College for 2 years, save money, etc.
2. Transfer to a better University either in state or out for your remaining 2 years

Have good, solid grades and test scores. Getting in is not that hard at all, but don't think that means it will be easy to stay! So enjoy the easy admission process, but be ready to work when you get to campus.
